Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 17e in the coming months, with the device positioned as the company’s most affordable iPhone of the year.
According to rumors circulating on China’s Weibo, the iPhone 17e will feature an OLED display, Apple’s A19 system-on-a-chip, and Face ID, and will be priced lower than the rest of the iPhone 17 lineup.
The key upgrade is a move to a 6.1-inch display. The iPhone 17e is said to use a 60Hz LTPS OLED panel with a Dynamic Island cutout and Face ID facial recognition. Performance will be powered by the new Apple A19 chip.
Earlier reports also suggested that Apple plans to unveil a record number of devices in 2026. Journalists who gained access to an internal build of iOS 26 (previously referred to as iOS 19) discovered codenames for nearly 30 upcoming Apple products in the system’s code.
