Apple’s upcoming features for the next iOS 26 build, as well as future versions of iOS 27 and 28, have been revealed.

The information is based on internal iOS builds compiled by Macworld. The list is preliminary, and some features may not make the final release.

What’s New in iOS 26.4

Key updates

  • Siri will integrate with Apple Intelligence. The assistant will become more personalised and support more natural, conversational interactions. The system will likely function using a large language model based on Google’s Gemini.
  • Bank card details stored in the Passwords app will be autofilled in third-party apps when needed, similar to how saved passwords are autofilled today.
  • The Health app will receive a refreshed category layout and simplified metric logging. The Find My app will gain precise outdoor location tracking for AirPods.

What else?

Apple plans to introduce a new device integrity check before signing in to iCloud or Apple ID. In practice, this could block access to Apple services if a device shows signs of unauthorised modifications, such as a jailbreak.

Freeform will support folder creation with iCloud sync. The Apple TV app is expected to launch a new sports section, which may come with a separate, more expensive subscription tier for sports fans.

What’s Coming in iOS 27+

Apple is preparing improvements to photo collections in the Photos app, likely including visual updates. The company also wants to streamline the AirPods pairing process. These changes are expected in iOS 27.

With iOS 28 and corresponding updates across Apple’s ecosystem, additional health-tracking upgrades are planned. The Health app will come to Mac, and Apple Watch is set to gain new sleep-tracking metrics.
