iOS 17 to enable the downloading of apps outside of App Store

It will be released at the WWDC 2023, which will be held from 5 to 9 June.

According to Mark Gurman, the company will release iOS 17 during the Conference and so comply with the law adopted by the European Parliament, which obliges Apple and Google to allow the installation of applications on smartphones from third-party sources.

Bypassing the App Store will allow developers to avoid paying a commission of 15-30%.

How exactly the installation of applications from other sources will work is still unclear. It's possible that Apple will limit this feature and will only allow installation of pre-approved apps.

Rumors about the 'sideloading' first appeared in December 2022.
