Google has announced the launch of its Search Live feature in the Google app for Android and iOS. Previously tested in Labs since June 2025, it’s now available to all U.S. users in English.
To activate the feature, users tap the “Live” icon below the search bar. They can then ask questions by voice or turn on the camera if their query involves objects nearby.
For example, you can ask how to make matcha by showing the whisk and powder, or find out which cable you need to connect a home theater system. According to Google, the system identifies the device model and cable type using “visual context.”
Search Live operates in real time in AI Mode: users can follow up with clarifying questions and immediately receive answers or links to relevant resources.
