Google has added audio file uploads to Gemini across Android, iOS, and the web.
Users can now upload recordings in MP3, M4A, WAV, and other formats through the “Files” menu or the “Upload files” option in a browser.
For Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers, the limit is up to three hours of audio, while free accounts are restricted to 10 minutes. The company says the feature is particularly useful for speech transcription and comes in response to frequent user requests.
Earlier, Gemini introduced video support: up to 5 minutes for free users and up to an hour for paid accounts, with a maximum file size of 2 GB. For other file types, the limit is 100 MB. Users can also connect GitHub repositories (up to 5,000 files) or ZIP archives (up to 10 files), and upload up to 10 files of any type per session.
