German publication WinFuture has shared what it says are the full specifications of Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra just a week ahead of the company's launch event.
According to the report, both foldables will feature Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays built on a titanium backplate, which is expected to improve durability while making the display crease less noticeable. Powering both devices will be Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, clocked at up to 4.47 GHz.
The biggest difference between the two models comes down to the camera system. The standard Galaxy Z Fold 8reportedly drops the telephoto camera altogether, while the Fold 8 Ultra retains a triple-camera setup and upgrades its ultrawide sensor from 12 MP (f/2.4) to 50 MP (f/1.9).
Both phones are expected to support Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC and 5G.
According to listings in the European EPREL product database, the Fold 8 is rated for up to 49 hours and 10 minutes of battery life, while the Fold 8 Ultra is listed at just over 51 hours. Both batteries are reportedly certified for 1,200 charge cycles, which is lower than the rating offered by a number of competing flagship smartphones.
