The flying vehicle is expected to be used in search and rescue operations.
The Xturismo Hoverbike can fly at speeds of up to 80 kph and soar 20 metres into the sky. Developed by Abu Dhabi's Bayanat and Japan's Aerwins Technologies, the high-strength carbon fiber vehicle is ideal for emergency services operating in challenging conditions such as desert terrain.
The hoverbike, which weighs 300kg, can fly for up to 40 minutes at a stretch and is powered by a turbocharged four-stroke Kawasaki gasoline motorbike racing engine delivering 230 horsepower. It has been designed to help emergency services reach remote locations, transport urgent supplies, and gather data.
The bike is expected to be used in remote areas for the oil and gas industry, to support civil defense operations and the construction sector. Hasan Al Hosani, chief executive of Bayanat, stated:
Our plan is to start a manufacturing unit in the UAE and customise it into our specific needs in the UAE
