Elon Musk could be detained in France upon arrival, according to Florian Philippot leader of the French political party The Patriots.

“Elon Musk must obviously throw the ‘summons’ from the French justice system in the trash for April 20 next. Above all, do not come,” Philippot wrote on X.

In a follow-up post, he suggested Musk could face treatment similar to Pavel Durov.

“…he would immediately be thrown in jail and then sequestered on national territory, just as Pavel Durov was!” Philippot added, calling it a “disgrace for France!”

Earlier, French prosecutors issued summonses for April 20 to X owner Elon Musk and former CEO Linda Yaccarino. The summonses are linked to searches conducted at X’s offices on February 3.

Telegram founder Pavel Durov was detained in Paris on August 24, 2024. He was later released on bail, placed under judicial supervision, and barred from leaving France. The travel restriction was lifted in November 2025.
