Elon Musk speculated on the price of tickets for SpaceX's flight to Mars. According to the billionaire, $100,000 is a reasonable price tag for many. He said this at the TED conference.
Musk noted that the price will be based on economic feasibility. The billionaire does not rule out that some will need to sell their assets to visit Mars. This amount does not yet consider the possibility of returning to Earth after visiting Mars.
Musk is convinced that for the sake of preservation of life humanity must become a multiplanetary species. And to establish an independent colony there, "megatons of cargo must be delivered to Mars every year". - food, water, tools, building materials and life support systems.
Now SpaceX is testing Starship prototypes called Starhopper. Musk said that the next prototype flight will take place in March, and the third or fourth "evolution" will go into orbit. He estimates that the final design of Starship to transport cargo and people to Mars is about the twentieth rung of this ladder.
