Employees in Dubai's technology sector are the third-highest earners in the industry worldwide, according to a survey published by consultancy Mercer. Only engineers in New York and Silicon Valley earn more than their Emirati ciunterparts.

When compared to other global technology centers such as London, Amsterdam, and Berlin, software engineers in Dubai with a minimum of three years’ experience earn nearly 30 percent more.

As the nation, accelerates its drive towards become a global tech hub the demand for tech talent will continue to grow in the UAE. Recently the country launched NextGenFDI - a programme offering incentives to attract hundreds of digital companies to set up in the country.

According to recruitment company Hays’s 2022 GCC Salary Guide, software development directors in the UAE earn an average of Dh52,500 ($14,295) a month, with a front-end developer/engineer earning an average monthly salary of Dh25,000, back-end developers Dh23,500, a mobile application developers Dh24,000, engineering managers Dh45,000.
