Although the location of the camera might not be immediately apparent, it is present nonetheless.

Desire for an Apple Watch equipped with a built-in camera hasn't diminished. Good news, there could be light at the end of the tunnel. A patent was recently granted to Apple which outlines a smartwatch with a camera situated on the bottom side of the device. Despite the seemingly awkward placement, facing your wrist, the patent details a system that would make this feature functional in specific situations.

The secret lies in the wristband, which would have two distinct parts - the top segment (including the watch itself) can be effortlessly detached from the bottom. This allows for easy photo taking with your Apple Watch. Simply detach it from your wrist, point it towards your desired subject, take the picture, and reattach the watch to the wristband.

While this may seem like an exciting feature, it's important to note that taking pictures with your phone is still more practical in most situations. The exception being those rare instances when your phone is not available.

This is not the first time that an Apple patent has been granted for a smartwatch with an integrated camera. Another patent, granted in 2022, proposes a more conventional camera placement within the watch's crown.
