Apple has filed a lawsuit against tech insider Jon Prosser, accusing him of misappropriating trade secrets. The full legal complaint was shared by MacRumors.

According to the lawsuit, Prosser revealed key elements of iOS 26 — including the unreleased Camera app interface and the "Liquid Glass" design concept — well ahead of Apple’s official announcement.

Here’s Apple’s version of events:

  • Prosser allegedly conspired with his associate Michael Ramacciotti to gain access to an engineering iPhone belonging to developer Ethan Lipnik.
  • They reportedly learned the passcode to the device and monitored Lipnik’s behavior to find moments when the phone was unattended. Prosser then offered Ramacciotti payment in exchange for information.
  • Ramacciotti allegedly FaceTimed Prosser to show the iOS prototype and share key details about the new interface.
  • Apple also claims that Lipnik failed to adequately safeguard the engineering device. He has since been terminated from his position.

Apple is asking a jury to prohibit Prosser from sharing any further confidential information and to hold him liable for damages caused by the leak. The company has not disclosed the amount it is seeking.

Prosser has already responded to the allegations on X (formerly Twitter), denying wrongdoing. He claims he never accessed anyone’s device directly and does not know how his source obtained the information.

Apple says it is unclear whether Prosser still holds additional confidential materials, as the leaked prototype reportedly included other unannounced design elements.
