Apple has officially started selling original spare parts for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro through its own online store, enabling users to repair their devices independently without visiting a service center.

According to The Verge, Apple has expanded its parts catalog to include components for the latest iPhone models. Now, iPhone owners can purchase genuine replacement parts and follow Apple’s official repair guides, released in September, for a step-by-step approach to DIY repairs.

Here’s the price breakdown for key components:

  • Camera modules for the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are priced at $169, while the 16 Pro and Pro Max models are $249.
  • Displays range from $279 to $379, depending on the model.
  • Batteries for the standard iPhone 16 models cost $99, and $119 for the iPhone 16 Pro.

For users without their own tools, Apple offers a specialized repair kit rental for $49, making self-repair more accessible.

Apple’s decision to sell parts directly to users aligns with its strategy to improve device repairability. Previously, Apple faced criticism over the complexity of iPhone repairs, but this move makes the process more approachable and cost-effective. DIY repairs offer a way to save money, particularly if users choose to use pre-owned parts, which Apple supports—except in cases where parts are sourced from stolen devices.
