Apple plans to refresh its entire Mac lineup with around 11 new models

Apple is reportedly preparing to refresh its entire Mac lineup over the next two years.

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who has a strong track record of reporting on Apple's roadmap, the company is working on around 11 new Mac models.

The expansion comes as Mac sales are expected to grow for a third consecutive year, driven in part by demand from users who need more powerful computers for resource-intensive AI workloads.

The rollout is expected to begin this fall. Gurman says Apple is preparing an updated entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro, likely among the first Macs powered by the M6 chip, alongside the first new iMacs in two years. Development of both devices is reportedly complete, although they are not expected to ship until later this fall.
Apple is also planning updates for the Mac mini and Mac Studio, though their launch timing remains uncertain. Demand for the current models already exceeds supply, and some new orders reportedly won't ship for at least three months.
The biggest upgrade is expected to come to the high-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro. Apple is reportedly working on a complete redesign featuring OLED displays and touchscreen support. The new models could arrive around late 2026 or early 2027.
The company is currently said to be testing the new MacBook Pro on macOS 27.1, which is scheduled for release in late October.
Looking further ahead, Apple is expected to refresh the MacBook Air in 2027 and introduce a lower-cost MacBook Neo powered by the A19 Pro chip. OLED versions of the MacBook Air and iMac are reportedly not expected until 2028 at the earliest.
