Apple has expanded the list of countries where the new iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro will be sold without a physical SIM slot. Previously, eSIM-only iPhones were limited to the U.S.

The updated list now includes:

  • UAE
  • Bahrain
  • Canada
  • Guam
  • Japan
  • Kuwait
  • Mexico
  • Oman
  • Qatar
  • Saudi Arabia
  • United States
  • U.S. Virgin Islands

Apple also noted that the eSIM versions of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max feature larger batteries thanks to the removal of the SIM slot, offering up to two extra hours of video playback. No such comment was made about the standard iPhone 17 on the company’s website.

As a reminder, the iPhone Air ships without a SIM slot in every market and will be available exclusively as an eSIM model worldwide.
