Apple is said to be developing two foldable iPhones, with the first expected to launch in 2026 and the second following two years later.
The report comes from South Korea, where Kim Ki-hyun, director at research firm Stone Partners, told ETNews that Apple is preparing both a book-style foldable and a clamshell-style version.
“A clamshell-type foldable iPhone will debut in 2028. Apple is already working with partners to prepare for the launch of its first book-type foldable iPhone in 2026 and is expected to diversify its foldable lineup starting in 2028,” the report states.
Apple has reportedly begun discussions with Korean suppliers regarding component production for the upcoming foldable devices. Industry insiders suggest the company is planning to unveil its new foldable technology around 2027, marking the 20th anniversary of the first iPhone.
