Apple has started active development on the second generation of its Vision Pro mixed-reality headset.
The news surfaced after a new filing appeared with the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Such filings typically show up in the early stages of preparing a product for mass production.
In the documents, Apple describes a “head-mounted device,” with diagrams that closely match the first-generation Vision Pro in form and layout.
The filing lists the device under the code name A3416 and confirms support for Wi-Fi 6, just like the original model. According to insiders, the new version will feature a redesigned head strap to reduce strain on the head and neck, one of the main complaints about the first Vision Pro. Reports also point to the inclusion of Apple’s new M5 chip, promising improved performance and smoother AR/VR app experiences. Rumors suggest the Vision Pro 2 could be unveiled before the end of this year.
