Anthropic has launched its latest AI model, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, which promises to be the company's smartest, fastest, and most personable model to date.

This new model is designed to compete with leading AI models such as OpenAI's GPT-4 and Google's Gemini, outperforming them in tasks such as writing and translating code, managing complex workflows, interpreting graphs, and transcribing text from images.

According to Anthropic, Claude 3.5 Sonnet not only outperforms its predecessor but is also twice as fast, marking a significant leap in AI performance.

Claude 3.5’s benchmark scores do look impressive — but these things change so fast.

In addition to the new model, Anthropic is introducing a feature called Artifacts, which allows users to interact with and edit the outputs of their AI requests directly within the app.

When a user asks Claude to generate content like code snippets, text documents, or website designs, these Artifacts appear in a dedicated window alongside their conversation. This creates a dynamic workspace where they can see, edit, and build upon Claude’s creations in real-time, seamlessly integrating AI-generated content into their projects and workflows.

This feature streamlines the process, making it more interactive and user-friendly, aligning with Anthropic’s vision to expand beyond basic chatbot functions.

Claude 3.5 Sonnet is now available to users on the web, iOS, and to developers, positioning itself as a strong competitor in the AI space.
