Next iPhone SE reportedly canceled by Apple

Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst, stated that the new phone was intended to serve as a test platform for its modem chips.

It seems that we may not be getting a new iPhone SE in 2024, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Kuo made this prediction based on sources in the supply chain. In a recent blog post, Kuo stated that Apple had decided to cancel production and shipment plans for the fourth-generation iPhone SE after Kuo's previous prediction that the phone could potentially be delayed or canceled.

Kuo believes that the cancellation of the iPhone SE may be due to poor sales of Apple's lower-end phones and concerns that another price increase for the lineup could decrease its appeal to price-conscious buyers. In September, Bloomberg reported that demand for the iPhone 14 Pro was higher than demand for the regular iPhone 14.

It is possible that Apple will not release an iPhone SE in 2024, and this news would not be surprising. In March, it was reported by Kuo and Nikkei Asia that Apple had reduced the planned production of the iPhone SE just weeks after its release. While there has been little information about the phone's sales performance since then, it is understandable if Apple is not eager to produce a sequel to a product that did not generate significant revenue, especially considering that 2023 may be a challenging year for major technology companies and the economy overall.
