X has announced a significant change to its blocking feature, allowing users you've blocked to view your public posts while still preventing them from interacting with your content.

In a recent reply, owner Elon Musk stated that blocking will stop accounts from engaging but not from seeing public posts. Currently, blocked users receive a “You’re blocked” message and cannot view profiles or posts.

Critics argue this adjustment could enable harassment, as blocked users may still access public updates, raising concerns about user safety on the platform.

Musk has previously expressed a desire to rethink the block feature, suggesting a preference for a "mute" function instead.
