Xiaomi announces global launch of foldable Mix Flip as it briefly overtakes Apple

Xiaomi has confirmed that its first foldable flip phone, the Mix Flip, will soon be available globally, following its initial launch in China.

The Mix Flip, featuring a 4-inch outer display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, and a 4,780 mAh battery, is expected to launch in global markets, excluding the US, in September.

The announcement comes as Xiaomi briefly surpassed Apple to become the world’s second-largest smartphone maker, according to Counterpoint Research. This position is expected to shift after Apple’s upcoming iPhone release.
