Apple has rolled out a new AI-driven feature called "Clean Up" in its latest developer betas for iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS 15.1, allowing users to easily remove objects from photos.

The tool uses AI to seamlessly fill in the background after an object is removed, even considering shadows and reflections. This addition follows similar technology introduced by Google earlier this year with its Magic Eraser feature for Google Photos.

The Clean Up tool is part of Apple's broader Apple Intelligence initiative, which has been gradually introduced in iOS 18.1 betas, alongside other features like smart replies in Mail and transcription for calls.
