Meta has introduced the HDMI Link app for Quest 3, Quest 2, and Quest Pro headsets, allowing users to connect HDMI devices like gaming consoles and laptops.

This app offers a cost-effective alternative to video glasses but requires a UVC/UAC compatible capture card, available for under $20.

Users can install the app on their headset, connect their device to the capture card via HDMI, and plug it into the headset. This setup enables near-zero latency viewing of video feeds at 1080p and 60fps on a resizable screen.

While future Quest models may support DisplayPort over USB-C, the HDMI Link app currently enhances the versatility of existing hardware for gamers and content consumers alike.
