This week, Apple hosted a gaming-focused media event in New York City, showcasing advancements in gaming for the iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The event, held on July 10, featured demonstrations of Game Mode in iOS 18, the performance of the new M4 iPad Pro, and more.

Macotakara reported that the event included displays of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, M4 iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and iMac.

Some iPhone 15 Pro Max units were paired with Backbone controllers, while PlayStation DualSense controllers from Sony were available for Mac and iPad gaming demos.

Games showcased at the event included:

  • Resident Evil 7 Biohazard
  • Valheim
  • Assassin’s Creed Mirage
  • Diablo Immortal
  • Zenless Zone Zero
  • Palworld

The event also highlighted new gaming features coming with iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS 15. For example, iOS 18 introduces Game Mode to the iPhone and expands AirPods Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking to gaming, reducing audio latency. Additionally, Apple's Game Porting Toolkit is now available, allowing developers to port macOS games to iOS.

Last year, Apple held a similar event for press and influencers, resulting in numerous articles and social media posts. So far, Macotakara's report is the only detailed account of this year's event.
