Apple unveils key changes for iOS, Safari, and App Store in response to EU Digital Markets Act

These changes, affecting developers and users, include over 600 new APIs, expanded app analytics, alternative browser engine functionality, and options for payment processing and app distribution.

While offering new capabilities, Apple introduces safeguards to mitigate risks related to malware, fraud, scams, and privacy concerns. Developers can test these changes in the iOS 17.4 beta, with the capabilities available to users in the 27 EU countries starting March 2024.
