According to CEO Patrick Spence, Sonos aims to raise the standard in its current audio segments with the Era speakers at the forefront.

Sonos is launching a new line of smart speakers, the Era 300 and Era 100, in the near future, according to The Verge. These speakers, previously known as the Optimo, will compete with the $299 Apple HomePod and smart speakers from Google and Amazon. The Era 300, as the flagship product, features spatial audio music and Dolby Atmos content. The new design sets the Era speakers apart from previous Sonos products.

The Verge has confirmed the consumer names for the new Sonos products as the company finalizes plans. A document from Sanus, a TV mount and speaker accessory maker, mentions the Era speakers, indicating the launch of the new product family. Sanus offers an $80 wall mount compatible with both speakers and a $220 floor stand, which has a weighted base and allows for 17 inches of height adjustment for optimal sound. The Sanus documents were published last month, according to a Google search.

Sonos is launching a new product series, which will include several new speakers. The most premium among them is codenamed Optimo 2, believed to be the Era 300, and is a multidirectional speaker designed to deliver the best spatial audio experience. The Era 300 boasts a reengineered acoustic design, providing the highest audio quality of any single speaker that Sonos has ever released. It is expected to have USB-C line-in, Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, and potentially Bluetooth playback, although these features may change before the final release.

The Era 100 is less well known, but it is speculated that a version without built-in voice mics, the Era 100 SL, will also be part of the Sonos 2023 lineup. This could be a successor to the Sonos One with up-firing Dolby Atmos drivers, fulfilling the request of many Sonos fans for this addition to the company's home theater portfolio.

All speakers in the Era lineup will support automatic tuning and sound optimization and Sonos plans to showcase their commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly materials.
