Apple will hide the Face ID module under the display in the new iPhone 16.
Apple has decided to remove the Dynamic Island notch from the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max. Instead, a new system will appear in the devices. There will be a front camera and TrueDepth scanners hidden under the screen.
This system will be called Underpanel Face ID. At the same time the American company will continue to use Dynamic Island in the iPhone 15 line. However, if in the iPhone 14 only two models (Pro and Pro Max) can boast of a new screen cutout, then in the iPhone 15 series, all four devices will already receive the Dynamic Island option.
In turn, Underpanel Face ID in 2024 will receive only Pro and Pro Max models. The base iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will remain with Dynamic Island. The portal indicates that Underpanel Face ID will completely hide the TrueDepth sensors and partially the gadget's front camera lens. In the latter case, the pixels of the matrix will become transparent when the screen is unlocked.
