For $8 on the web and $11 on iOS.
Twitter has announced the date for the official relaunch of Twitter Blue. The company announced this last weekend. Social network going to charge $8 on the web and $11 on iOS.
The main feature of the subscription will be the blue checkmark that Twitter previously used for confirming official accounts. Now to receive it, the user must have a verified phone number. The checkmark will appear after your account “has been reviewed”. How exactly the verification process will be carried out has not yet been specified. If the user decides to change the account information, the company will temporarily remove the blue checkmark until the new information is verified.
To tag official accounts, Twitter has developed two types of checkmarks. It will use a gray checkmark for government agencies and a gold checkmark for businesses. The gold checkmark is launching now and the gray checkmark will be available for the rest of the week.
Twitter also announced future innovations for Twitter Blue buyers. Subscription will be able to upload longer videos in 1080p and tweets will be prioritized in search on the platform.
Earlier, Elon Musk said that Twitter is working on increasing the maximum length of tweets. According to him, in the future the company may increase the maximum tweet length limit to 4,000 characters. Whether this feature will become part of Twitter Blue or be available to everyone is not specified.
