The UAE government announced a multiple-entry tourist visa for travellers to FIFA World Cup, that is set to take place in neighbouring Qatar in November.

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, explained that the programme includes granting a multiple-entry visa to the UAE for a total period of up to 90 days from the date of issuance of the visa, while visa fees are reduced to AED 100 ($27) and will be paid once for the whole period.

The Authority indicated that holders of Hayya card, a Qatari name for Fan ID, can enter the UAE by applying for this type of visa starting November 1, and it will allow them to enter the country several times during the validity period. The visa can also be extended for another 90 days.

Citizens of visa-exempt countries are excluded from all the procedures, the UAE state news agency WAM reports.

The special football fan visa can be obtained on the website of the Federal Authority For Identity and Citizenship.

Recently, Saudi Arabia announced that it would open its borders to holders of the Hayya Card. The Fan ID holders will be able to spend up to 60 days in the kingdom during the World Cup season from November 1 to January 23 next year.
