Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who is highly respected, believes that the new processor will be the main attraction. According to Kuo, the earliest that the processor will be shipped is by the end of 2023.

According to well-respected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will be releasing an updated version of its iPad Mini with a new processor. The updated tablet is expected to be available for shipping by the end of 2023 or early 2024. The iPad Mini was recently redesigned in 2021, after remaining largely unchanged since its introduction in 2012. The 8.3-inch tablet is smaller than Apple's largest iPhone (the 6.7-inch Pro Max) and larger than its 10th-generation iPad (10.9 inches). It features an A15 Bionic chip, a USB-C port, and the option for 5G connectivity.

Kuo states that the new processor will be the main selling point of the updated iPad Mini, so it is likely that there will not be many other significant changes to the device. If Kuo's timeline is accurate, the iPad Mini will be ready for a processor update after two years. This could mean that the updated version will feature an A16 processor, similar to the one used in the current top-of-the-line iPhone 14 Pro, or an M-series chip, similar to the ones used in the iPad Air and iPad Pro.

We may find out more about the updated iPad Mini as early as next fall, when Apple typically releases its pre-holiday lineup of hardware.
