Telegram 13.0 arrives with a redesigned interface and major Wallet changes

Telegram has released version 13.0, introducing interface changes, new connection options and improvements to video messages. Despite the changes, the company describes the update simply as “bug fixes, minor improvements.”

Telegram has not yet published a detailed announcement on its official blog. The update includes the following changes:

  • Wallet changes: The former Wallet service, now called Walt, has moved out of Telegram's settings and can be accessed through the mini-app interface.
  • WEB proxy support: Telegram now includes built-in support for WEB proxies, providing another way to establish a secure connection to the messenger.
  • AI bot controls: A new Pause button allows users to stop AI bots while they are generating responses.
  • Mini-app reporting: Users can now report mini-apps that violate Telegram's platform rules.
  • Better video messages: On Android, video messages now support 480×480 resolution at 30 frames per second, up from 384×384.
  • Navigation changes: The Search button has been removed from the bottom navigation bar.
  • Liquid Glass improvements: Visual effects have been refined for iOS 27.
  • New cryptocurrency wallet: The update is also expected to introduce Telegram's new Gram Wallet, although the service is not yet available to users.

Durov's Code reported in late September on the Wallet rebranding and Telegram's plans to launch Gram Wallet.

Wallet in Telegram rebrands as Walt ahead of Gram Wallet rollout
Wallet in Telegram has been renamed Walt as Gram Wallet prepares to take its place in the app, with existing accounts and assets unchanged.

Telegram 13.0 also raises the minimum supported iOS version to iOS 15, meaning users running iOS 13 or iOS 14 cannot install the update.

The latest version is available through Apple's App Store, while Android users can download it from Google Play or Telegram's official website.
