New iPhone Ultra dummy units reveal what could be Apple’s final design

YouTuber Unbox Therapy has shown off new dummy units of the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and iPhone Ultra, just a week before Apple’s September event.

The iPhone Ultra shows the most noticeable changes:

  • Compared with earlier mockups, the latest version is more detailed and may offer a better indication of what the final device will look like.

  • The body appears thicker, with softer edges and more rounded corners. The camera module has also been reshaped and now looks more consistent with Apple’s current design language.

  • An Apple logo has been added to the back, combining a matte finish across the body with a glossy logo.

  • The folding mechanism has been refined as well, with the hinge sitting deeper inside the chassis and protruding less from the side of the device.

  • The USB-C port and speaker layout may have changed too. The new dummy places one speaker grille at the upper left and the others at the lower right, a configuration that could potentially create wider stereo separation.

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, meanwhile, look largely unchanged from dummy units that have surfaced before. The video does show two possible new finishes, Rose Crimson, with a reddish-pink tone, and Space Black.

The mockups should still be treated with some caution. They are not production devices and may have been created using incomplete or preliminary information about Apple’s final hardware.

Apple is expected to reveal the final design of its new iPhones at its September 9 event.
