iPhone Air with dual cameras reportedly coming in spring 2027

Apple is reportedly planning to refresh the iPhone Air in spring 2027 with one of the upgrades users have been asking for most: a second rear camera.

According to MacRumors, the next-generation device will add an ultra-wide lens alongside the main camera. The project has already reached an advanced testing stage.

The overall design is expected to stay largely the same, with the new camera module being the most noticeable hardware change. Apple is also said to be working on improving battery life, though not by making the device larger.

Instead, the company is expected to lean on efficiency gains from the A20 chip, which is rumored to be built using a next-generation 2nm manufacturing process.

The move would address one of the biggest complaints about the current iPhone Air. While the device's thin design has been praised, its single-camera setup has left it looking underpowered compared with even cheaper iPhone models.

The new iPhone Air is expected to launch alongside the standard iPhone 18 in spring 2027. The iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and Apple's first foldable iPhone are reportedly scheduled to arrive later that year.
