New iPhone Air 2 leak reveals more details about Apple's next ultra-thin phone

Apple's second-generation iPhone Air could feature a second rear camera, a larger battery and a new 2nm processor, according to Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station.
The leaker shared details on Weibo, claiming that Apple is already developing the phone's display. The iPhone Air 2 is expected to retain its predecessor's proportions, with no wider version resembling the foldable iPhone Duo planned for at least next year.
The biggest upgrade is reportedly a new A20-series chip, alongside several hardware changes:
- Display: 6.55-inch LTPO OLED panel with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
- Processor: A20-series chip built on a 2nm process.
- Cameras: Two 48MP rear cameras, adding an Ultra Wide lens alongside the main camera.
- Battery: Larger capacity than the original iPhone Air.
When followers asked why Apple would add an Ultra Wide camera instead of a telephoto lens, Digital Chat Station said the company considers the main camera's 2x crop zoom sufficient.
A separate, earlier leak from yeux1122 suggested that Apple could make the iPhone Air 2 even thinner, reducing its thickness from 5.6mm to 5.2mm while using a higher-energy-density battery. Apple has not confirmed any of these details.
