iPhone 17 Pro cases could also fit the iPhone 18 Pro

Apple may be keeping the iPhone 18 Pro almost identical in size to the iPhone 17 Pro, to the point that existing cases will reportedly fit both generations.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman spotted new OtterBox cases at Best Buy that list compatibility with both the iPhone 17 Pro and the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro, MacRumors reports. The packaging suggests there will be little, if any, change to the phone’s overall dimensions.

That apparently won’t apply to the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Leaks point to a thicker and heavier design, reportedly to make room for a larger battery, meaning last year’s cases are unlikely to fit.

Accessories appearing before Apple officially unveils a new iPhone is nothing unusual. Case manufacturers receive device dimensions ahead of launch so they can have products ready in time for release. Apple’s next iPhone event is expected in mid-September 2026.

While the dimensions may stay the same, the price reportedly won’t. Early reports suggest the iPhone 18 Pro could start at $1,299, a $200 increase over the iPhone 17 Pro.
