Hyundai unveils S-A2 electric air taxi, sets ambitious goal for passenger service by 2028

Hyundai's advanced air mobility company, Supernal, revealed the S-A2, its latest electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, signaling the automaker's intention to launch commercial air taxi services by 2028.

The S-A2 features a V-tail design, distributed electric propulsion architecture, and eight tilting rotors, emphasizing safety for commercial aviation.

The company plans to commence testing its technology demonstrator vehicles in California this year, with a focus on obtaining FAA certification and submitting compliance proposals by 2025.
